Baileigh PL-2060 Metal Lathe
Baileigh’s PL-2060 gear head lathe is the perfect size for almost any machine shop or fabrication shop. Its swing is 20” over the bed with 60 inches between centers. The precise gear system allows for combinations of speeds from 20 to 1550 RPM allowing for tapping, turning and polishing of almost any metal product to be turned.
Rigidity is the key when looking at an engine lathe and the PL-2060 has that rigidity which starts with a heavy Meehanite® casting for the base and framework. The large ways are surface ground then finished with a Turcite-B® coating for longevity and tighter tolerances.
This gear head lathe has precise drives on the X and Y axis offering smooth polish like finishes. The X and Y axis also comes standard with a very precise Mitutoya DRO (digital read out).
