Baileigh Industrial working with Students from Valders High School to build a MINI CHOPPER

October 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

So far we have receieved all of the parts from the original mini chopper kit, finished final frame design and modifications. The engine was rewired correctly after several mishaps and was successfully fired and kept running. On the 28 of Sept. we were given a generous donation of $3000 from the Bessert family to aid in our manufacturing of the mini chopper. On Oct. 7th our mock frame was completed and the engine was fitted for sizing and it was found that the frame needed to be re-sized for the accommodation of the exhaust and carburetor. We have ordered our front and rear tire and are expecting them to come in any day.

Ray Quick - Baileigh Industrial Gravity Racer

October 14th, 2009 · No Comments

Ray Quick Designed and Built the Baileigh Industrial Gravity Racer that he races Ray Quick

Ray Quick started to tinker with designing and building the Baileigh Industrial gravity racer in 2006.  He started racing in some small local races in Colorado.  In 2006 he placed 3rd in the Cripple Creek race by crossing the finish line backwards.  In 2007 and 2008 he fine-tuned the steering geometry to keep his butt end behind him, finishing second and first respectively!!  The win in 2008 he unseated the 7 time champion.  In 2009 he improved his aerodynamics and would put it to the test in Victor Colorado taking first place.  The next test was the Great Sand Springs Downhill Soapbox Derby Race (http://www.sandspringsderby.com/) in Sand Springs Oklahoma.  The race was October 10th and that was here the true test for him and his gravity racing skills..  Ray ended up taking home first place out of 68 racers.  His progress from 2006 to 2009 can be found at (http://www.quik-pak.com/gravity_racers.htm) where you will also see the Quik-Pak trailers he designs and sales..  Good job Dad!!!!!!!!

Editors note:  Ray Quick is the father of Baileigh Industrial’s Lead Technical Advisor, Brennon Quick.  Congratulations Ray on your victory!

Baileigh Bail OUT!!!

August 17th, 2009 · No Comments

Well!, thanks to all of you here on the Hamb that read all of the tech posts, as well as Baileigh Industrial. It is pretty amazing that Baileigh is willing to sponsor a tech week by giving away such valuable and useful piece of equipment. I am going to be the proud new owner of a deep throat shrinker/stretcher! I just got off the phone with Baileigh Industrial and by the end of the week I should have a new shrinker stretcher to add to my small collection of metal fabrication tools! I can’t wait to start using it! Check it out! New Shrinker / Stretchers

Do you know how refreshing it is to call a company to place an order for equipment and be able to talk to someone on a personal level? It is all to often that you call up a store to order something out of their catalogue, only to get some 6 dollar an hour employee just out of grade school who doesn’t care a lick about you or what your ordering, nor do they have any knowledge of the product you are getting so your questions… Well… their out of the question! Well, the guys over at Baileigh are the exact opposite of that! I called Baileigh Industrial this morning and started asking questions about both machines and all of the details of each and he answered every one of them… Not only did he have all of the knowledge but you can tell right off the bat that he genuinely cares about the machines and the work he does. I’ll tell you, that is so refreshing in a capitalist economy like our where most everyone in big business only cares about the bottom dollar. So far its been a great experience and I’m sure it will only get better… We even joked a bit about cars and projects we were working on, like the upholstery in his 1960 Corvair. Amazing guys over there at Baileigh! Don’t believe me, give Baileigh Industrial a call (920-684-4990)! Order one of their catalogues there free, and talk cars and metal fabrication you’ll see what I mean!

As soon as I get the machine I’ll start putting up some pictures of the great work that it does!

Check out their website at: www.bii1.com

Thanks again for all the support!

Tim Dikeman’s experience with Baileigh

July 22nd, 2009 · No Comments

I had gone back and forth talking about benders and notchers for a while. I really wasn’t overly impressed for quite some time, since the “other” brands did much of the same thing and were easily available used. Then, I went on a road trip out to Minnesota to visit family for the 4th of July. I decided to stop by Baileigh on the way home and check out their stuff. All I have to say is HOLY COW am I happy I did that.

Here’s a little run down of our experience. As soon as I stepped into the customer waiting area, I knew I was at a great place. Everything is very neat and organized. … we walked out into the warehouse to drool, and boy did I drool. Everything in that place was of the absolute best quality. I’m the kind of person who likes to see stuff before he buys, and I’m very glad I did.

We were stuck with a strict budget, and Baileigh worked with us to get only what we needed and nothing more…very friendly and never pushed the sale.. Anyway, on to the equipment.

We tested out this guy, RDB-250. As soon as he hit the go pedal and bent a perfect 90* in some 1.25″ pipe in about 5 seconds, I was sold. The accuracy was something I was far from used to as well. This should be a great asset to our business. Combined with Bend Tech the possibilities are endless. I’ll be upgrading to a rotary positioning table down the line to increase accuracy.

We also looked at the TN-400 tubing notcher. The quality of this machine is also very apparent. I’m a huge fan of dirty, powerful tools, and this thing fits that bill perfectly.

We ended up walking out of Baileigh about 3 hours later more than happy with our decisions. Shipping cost was very reasonable and the crew there is second to none. Fast forward to last week (a week after our visit). The machines arrived on the truck. Last night I finally got around to opening the packaging. First of all, I’ve never seen so much care put into shipping in my life. I think these machines could have fallen off the truck and still worked perfectly fine. It took two of us about 20 minutes to remove the bubble wrap on both packages.
